Easy fix for minor error in the navigation stamp on both vehicles…

0450: Update
We are working along nicely so far. Ginger was recovered at around 0930 this morning. An issue was discovered in the code that was pre-loaded onto the new flash drives put in both vehicles that made an error in the navigation stamp in the metadata for the sonar data. Andy Sherrell discovered this while he was going over the data. We did some testing and realized what the issue was, so we uploaded the old files to solve the problem. The data was good and the vehicle nav data is in place, so we sent Ginger back down to work the next box. She is currently in boxes 17/18a.

Operations!
Mary Ann came up with basically the same issue, which is exactly what we expected. Her data was also good and she is back down working the same boxes in the B column. The issue may make it difficult for us to mosaic the data, but the actual sonar imagery is fine and the vehicle nav info is solid. We had no problem moving forward once the issue was understood and solved. The vehicle nav data will allow us to re-acquire anything if we find any hot targets in the data, which so far are not evident. Both girls are now down on the bottom working, and we are farming a couple more Deep Ocean Transponders (DOTs). A fairly quiet day. Weather is nice, seas aren’t too bad. Just a pretty standard day, which two days into a new Leg is a good thing.

AUV Operator/Technician Samantha Guse and AUV Mechanical Engineer/Operator Mark Dennett, both from Woods Hole (WHOI), prep a DOT float for deployment.
